An introduction

Star is an exciting new brand launched by Blue Sky Meats (NZ) to sit alongside the Horizon Brand.

Blue Sky Meats (NZ) Limited is a specialist meat marketing company established in 1987 and has been in partnership with Blue Sky Meats since its inception. In 2003 Horizon Meats became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Blue Sky Meats. All meat production from the plant is packed under the Horizon and Star brands. These brands have a positive image in all global markets and thanks to the efforts of staff and management enjoy a reputation for quality products and associated service.

The Blue Sky Meats team comprises experienced marketing, production and logistics personnel. They handle stock control, sales and marketing, shipping, foreign exchange and documentation. Blue Sky Meats' marketing strategy is based around extensive market coverage that assures the best returns for suppliers' products from a select range of reliable customers including HRI distributors, manufacturers, supermarkets and caterers. Blue Sky Meats and it’s suppliers favour long term relationships in the market with companies who share their commitment to quality.

Blue Sky Meats (NZ) Ltd is located in the South Island of New Zealand. Established in 1987, Blue Sky is a processor of lamb, mutton, bobby veal and goat.

During peak season the Boning and Cutting room operates 20 hours per day, 7 days per week. The plant handles approximately 30,000 stock units per week with almost 100% being further processed.
